Data and credits

Every player, club, season and table on Quiz FC comes from open sources. Here is what we used, the licence it is under and how to reuse it.

The data file is CC BY-SA 4.0

The Premier League history the games read (pl-history.v2.json) is published under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 licence. You may copy, share and adapt it, commercially too, as long as you credit the sources, link the licence, say what you changed and share your version under the same licence. The licence covers the data file, not the Quiz FC code.

What we changed

Football statistics adapted from Wikipedia articles by Wikipedia contributors, CC BY-SA 4.0. We took the league appearance and goal columns from squad-statistics tables, league goals from match-result scorers columns and senior-career spells from player infoboxes; checked them against the CC0 results; merged them with Wikidata identity; and re-encoded them as compact JSON. Cup and European figures are left out, and assists are not included. A game never shows a figure that is flagged as incomplete.

No data from premierleague.com, the Fantasy Premier League API, Opta or any other league-owned feed is used. The full statement is in ATTRIBUTION.md.

Every Wikipedia revision used

Each link opens the exact revision the statistics came from; “Authors” opens that article's history, its list of contributors. Also available as attribution.json.
